My Goals for 2009-2011

Finance
Maintain the record of excellence in fiscal management and sound investment for Village taxpayers by a thorough review of budgeting and capital planning practices and priorities.

Economic Development
Continue to encourage expansion of business investment and the growth of quality job opportunities.  Enhance Dryden as a place to live and work by:

 *  Drawing on the local business community in order to identify any public obstacles to achieving better storefront occupancy.
 *  Working with the Planning Board to ensure continuation of high quality, compatible business development.   
 *  Identifying and securing funding sources for the extension of needed infrastructure in the Village’s recently annexed Empire Zone.

Public Safety
Maintain an effective community police presence to provide for the safety and security of Village residents and businesses.  Continue to support the outstanding fire and EMS service provided by Dryden Fire and Ambulance.

Community Planning
Work with our Village Planning Board, Code Enforcement officials, engineers and planners to improve community quality and protect environmental resources while providing for new growth and expanded housing options.

Public Works
Continue our efforts to anticipate needed infrastructure, providing for future needs while minimizing costs.  Assess the capacity and needs of the Public Works Department in preparation for managing a major capital project (sewer plant and collection system) as well as the onset of new residential and commercial growth. Also:

 *  Complete the planning and financing phase of an upgrade to the sewage treatment plant and collection system with the goal of beginning construction within two years.
 *  Continue to work with the US Geological Survey and DEC in pursuit of additional water sources for the Village and surrounding area.  Extend our efforts to upgrade the water storage system.

Local Cooperation
Expand on our successful partnerships with TC3 and the Town of Dryden to improve the effectiveness of our local community organizations.
